BIOGRAPHIE DJ YVES BASH

 

Née en 1973 à Liège en  Belgique, Yves est vers  le milieu des années 80 attiré pas les sons électroniques. Il écoute de la new wave, ebm et bien évidement aussi de la new beat fin des années 80. En 1990 il découvre le mouvement « techno » et commence a sortir dans des clubs comme le Boccaccio et bien d?autres. Après avoir parcouru beaucoup de clubs et rave en Belgique et en Allemagne (Dorian Gray, Warehouse, Boccaccio,  Mayday, rave on etc.....) il décide en 1993  de commencer a mixer, a l?époque son style était plutôt énergétique et fortement influencé par le style des raves en Allemagne, d?ailleurs ses amis se rapellent encore de titres comme Amiga Ep ou encore des labels comme Direct Drive et Fire qui définissent bien son style de l?époque. En 1996 il reviens a un style techno beaucoup plus « classic », mais il trouve qu?il manque quelque chose a cette musique répétitive, et de fait il laisse un peut tomber la musique (mixe) jusqu?en 1998 ou il tombe par hasard sur un disque qui a comme titre « Champagne Ep » de Miss Kittin et The Hacker, titre qui connaîtra un grand succès des mois plus tard mais qui dés le début a accroché Yves.

Il retrouve le goût a la musique et reviens en 2001 avec des dj sets  électro-techno énergique mélodieux avec des sonorités des années 80. Il se met également a la production et collabore a l?organisation de soirées (Electro-Head). En 2004 il y a  sa pemière apparition a l'étrangé au Rio club de Dijon et une participation au soirée Lektroclash avec David Carretta en live. Il participé egalement à 2 Kozzmozz ytc, Beat n' Bass, Décadance-visa, Klangwerk, et bien d'autres !

 

 

 

 

 

 

Born in 00110001 00111001 00110111 00110011 (do you understand binary ?) in the city of Liege (belgium), Yves started to be attracted by the electronic sounds around the mid. 80's. Back then, he listen to new wave, ebm and of course, at the end of the 80's, a lot of new beat. In 1990, he discover the "techno" movement and began to go out in a lot of partie's and clubs like the Dorian Gray, The Warehouse, The Boccacio, Mayday, Nature one,...it's back up in 1992-93 that he started mixing , his style was quite energetic and hugely under the typical german early rave sounds influence, just ask his friends about some tracks like Amiga e.p. or labels like Direct Drive & Fire records and they will defenetly tell you that these are the best way you can explain what was Yves all about around this period.
In 1996,he come back to a much more "classical" techno style but think that there is something missing in this repeating music, he then just decided to take a break as dj till 1998 , when he hasardously get his hands and ears on a track produced by miss Kittin & The Hacker called : "Champagne.e.p.", a track that will be a huge hit a few months later. Totally seduced by this record , Yves started dee-jaying again and comes back in 2001 with electro-techno mixes full of energy and melodies  and 1980's sounds influences  and also influenced by artists like Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, PIL, New Order, Eurythmics and many other . At the same time he started producing and also collaborated (with 2 friends dj) at the organization of parties Electro-Head, there were 7 editions of these parties, the last was in 2004 at the Steed Club

 

 

Freshly under Ararien Label, X-Cube, formally known as Christian Bonneville in the every day life, has this perfect touch in order to make a variety of people travel through his art which is mostly varied in terms of electronic music styles.

He first started of, years ago, with a strong and brutal techno which opened a place for him on the Montreal local scene. He matured with wisdom and high technique by diversifying his repertory, tangling from Electro to Minimal. Recently, he managed to offer us his new challenge by exploring a passive and deep Progressive style. In fact, what is most attractive about X-Cube is that he can easily manage to play a funky Tech style as well as a heaven-reach Minimal.

Inspired since always by renown artists, X-Cube always knew how to reach his most picky fans and most devoted amateurs. No matter the place, he knows how to feel the vibe of his crowd and totally burn out the dance floor.

Throughout the years, X-Cube seized many opportunities in terms of improving his techniques, feeling of the crowd, and diversifying his “ear” to many styles by sharing many nights with artists like : : Miss Kittin, Misstress Barbara, Thomas Krome, Alex Bau, Preach, Yaz, Chris Liberator, Anton X, Laflèche, Vega, Mini, Creator, Pink Feria, Maus, Mateo Murphy, Bender , Jeff Fontaire, Wizz, Kal and many more. No doubt he is the artist, as polyvalent and crowd-understanding. He also benefited of a certain visibility with Indamix.ca, which offered many local artist to take more place on the Montreal scene.

Moreover, after creating some relationships with different artists, you may have already heard him in different places such as: le Parking , Stereo Bar , Mile End Bar, Balroom, S.A.T, Helsinki, L'Académie, Salon Daomé, De Lima, Soho Lounge Club ,Velvet Club , Terrasses Bonsecours et Winter Bar or certain after-hours, as for instance : Aria, Circus, Gravity, Cube, Daylight, Level, Gruv, L'Exode, L'After , the Notre-dame and the Turbo.

X-Cube also participated in many events: Lollipop 5, Silver 2005, I Love Montreal 2, and also at RaveMontreal 13, 14, 16, 18 and 20. He also performed at one of the Piknic Electronik in 2006.

After being a free agent, he is now very proud to be part of the Akarien team, with whom he shared many evenings with artists like Omni and Axel Klein.
